Update on polar sea ice

As we approach the UN attempt to lock in carbon reduction targets at COP21 in Paris, I thought it would be timely to check what’s happening at the poles:

Arctic iceAntarctic sea ice

Neither are setting new records in either direction, but they are not in any manner consistent with the notion of global warming, from any source.

And a quick reminder that 90% of the world’s ice is in Antarctica. As you can see, it was setting record highs last year.

Remember those forecasts that we would have no Arctic ice by about 2010? Not looking good for those forecasts.

Mind you, there’s been much less ice up there in our recorded history, but don’t let the facts interfere with a good story.
