The Baltic Dry Shipping Index is seen by many as the best measure of the state of the global economy, because it reflects what it costs to ship goods around the globe. A low index means the global economy is suffering. An all-time low means, despite what the MSM or the DOW tells you, the global economy is in the toilet, and this will show up elsewhere sooner rather than later.
