Thank you, Kathy.
When I watched this trailer for the forthcoming film on the life of Paramahansa Yogananda, it was as if a lightning bolt went through me. Some years ago, an Indian friend and fellow seeker was kind enough to gift me a copy of Autobiography of a Yogi. It has become one of my spiritual reference points and one I recommend to anyone open to reading it. Written with a beauty and a command of the English language few native speakers achieve, Yogananda’s book has made the wonders of the great yogi Masters accessible to the understanding of anyone.
There are those who argue that the path to understanding the possibility of what it means to be human is through the use of psychedelics, and indeed it has always been thus. Whilst I honour the right of anyone to choose their own path, Yogananda’s book demonstrates unequivocally that such agents are not a requirement for the understanding of Self. Firstly, I commend Yogananda’s autobiography to anyone who has not read it and I, for one, cannot wait for the release of the film based on his life in October. I find it interesting that this film is coming forth in this time.
