This article in the Guardian reports on Julian Assange’s speech to a current conference.
“The NSA has grown to be a rogue agency. It has grown to be unfettered … the ability to surveil everyone on the planet is almost there, and arguably will be there within a few years. And that’s led to a huge transfer of power from the people who are surveilled upon, to those who control the surveillance complex.”
Let us not think this about the NSA or America, per se. They are simply the stalking house de jour. You have to look behind the curtain to see where this is really driven from. And what’s so comical for me is that so many who are or have been part of the American system since WWII think they actually hold the power. They don’t. They are simply today’s replacement for Hitler’s Nazi Germany, but most of them don’t realise it. Hubris is so blinding.
