Twenty years ago, Graham Hancock documented substantial evidence for the existence of an advanced civilisation on Earth that disappeared some 12-13,000 years ago in his book “Fingerprints of the Gods”. To say Graham was pilloried by the so-called experts for his stance would be an understatement, but they did not stop him. It was said there was no verifiable evidence of this, nor a mechanism for its demise. And now, based on the evidence he shares in “Magicians of the Gods: The Forgotten Wisdom of Earth’s Lost Civilization”, he has been vindicated on both counts.
Firstly, it has been demonstrated that the ancient site at Gobekli Tepe contains advanced astronomical/astrological carvings on the pillars, demonstrating knowledge of the skies and of the precession of the equinoxes, and which began to be intentionally buried at least 11,600 years ago, when traditional archaeology says humanity was living in caves. Further, the existence of an advanced global civilisation has been confirmed by the dating of the deeper layers at Gunung Padang, an archaeological site in Indonesia, at more than 20,000 years old. Also, based upon similar carvings along with myths and legends from around the globe, it is clear this civilisation was global.
And the mechanism for its disappearance has also been nailed. It began with a series of cometary fragments that hit the Earth 12,800 years ago (+/-150 years), with its main impact on the icesheets covering the northern reaches of the North American continent, and spraying across Europe at least as far as Syria, as evidenced by “the copious presence of nanodiamonds in samples from the Younger Dryas Boundary layer taken in many different countries”, along with other cometary debris. The impact in North America led to the extraordinary landscape scouring known as the scablands of Washington State and the creation of a massive fossilised waterfall that is 50 times the size of Niagara Falls and which was formed in an estimated two weeks, rather than some 12,000 years as is the case with Niagara Falls. Randall Carlson has made the understanding of this phenomenon his life’s work, and Graham gives him due acknowledgement in Magicians of the Gods. The final shreds of this advanced civilisation disappeared with the massive and sudden sea level rise of some 450 feet at the end of the Younger Dryas, around 11,600 years ago.
I am sharing this very brief summary with you to acknowledge Graham’s unquestionable victory over the naysayers, and I encourage you to read his entertainingly written and thoroughly researched book for the details. This recent video also provides an excellent introduction by Graham to the ground he covers in Magicians of the Gods.
