I doubt we know all of the ways our activities are being tracked online. Nevertheless, if you have an interest in privacy, that’s not a reason to not do what you can to limit that tracking.
I wrote an article some time ago on how to limit Microsoft’s tracking in Windows 10. Since then, Windows 10 has been updated and doors you might have closed have, in some cases, been reopened. This article is an updated perspective, which I used to, again, shut Cortana down on my Windows 10 environment, albeit an environment I’m using less and less as Mac OS gets more of my attention, in part for reasons of privacy and security.
